Which of these images is closest to what your flaccid penis looks like?
Now that you know for sure, how do you feel about that?
The forcible cutting and removal of a newborn boy’s penis (euphemistically called circumcision) is a hot-button topic among Americans, often resulting in shock, anger or other knee-jerk reactions when it is mentioned. The difficulty men who are cut have is that male genital cutting is generally accepted and for some expected or required. Add to this the fact that a third of American men are unsure or mistaken about their penile status.2Risser JMH, Risser WL, Eissa MA, Cromwell PF, Barratt MS, Bortot A. Self-assessment of circumcision status by adolescents. Am J Epidemiol. 2004;159:1095–1097. We live in a society where, on the one hand, cutting newborn boys is commonplace, demanded by parents and certain religious groups as a right, and paid for by both Medicaid and private insurance, while on the other hand men are protesting MCGC in the streets and children’s rights organizations like Intact America are actively opposing the practice.
